Wine Country

Just wrapped up a couple of days in Mendoza, Argentina´s best known wine region. It was the perfect place to be after spending a week in bustling BA. Whereas BA was a blistering 33 degrees plus, Mendoza was a perfect 27 ish. It was a little rough for anita, waking up and catching the 5 am flight, but the thought of sipping Mendozás famous Malbec wines kept us going strong. Once we settled in, we rented bikes to ride around from vineyard to vineyard. Most of the vineyards had free tastings so we took advantage of that. Now that is what life is all about-- go for a bike ride, enjoy a guided tour, and then taste the offerings of each vineyard. We were also able to enjoy a gourmet lunch at romantic little restaurant in the region as well.

Only downside was that since we both hadn´t ridden in awhile, both our you-know-whats were a little sore the next day. AJ toughed that out, being a little tipsy, and also riding a bike clearly too big for her. What a trouper! I am quite proud of the way she toughed out the 8 hour biking day. Now let´s wait and see what i have to say next week when we attempt the ancient trek to machu pichu!!

Yeah, 8 hours is a long day of riding if you're not used to it, or even if you ARE used to it. I'm enjoying the blog, looks like you're having a great time, keep it up!

(PS Steve, the Canucks are hanging onto a playoff spot by their fingernails.... some ugly blown leads lately. It almost looks like the team is disappointed they didn't land Brad Richards)
